If you are like me, you will feel both excitement and dread to the New Years. Another year has passed, and what have I done? Personally, I wanted to lose more weight, get more ahead of my new business venture, and maybe have saved more money for travel. There is always next year, people say. But doesn't it feel like some goals are just so insurmountable? Do not lose hope out there! I love this quote from Lao Tzu- "Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small". You may say, what? What does that mean? For me it means that when you fixate on the end goal, you may be overwhelmed and defeated. Instead, take one easy small step towards that goal while keeping that goal in the back of your mind. So maybe instead of saying "I am going to lose 20 lbs this year", commit to eating 4 servings of vegetables and fruit daily, at least 3 times a week. Maybe you already eat vegetables that often, so maybe instead say, I will drink 1 glass of alcohol only three times a week. You get the message. The second part of Lao Tzu's saying is " A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step". My single step for my business blog is to write this first blog. :) Done. Now to the next steps...
Ready for the New Year?
