What airport do I fly into and how do I get there?
Fly into SeaTac airport and we can arrange a shuttle direct from the airport to the Clinton ferry terminal on Whidbey Island. (This fee is approximately $89) If you are in the Seattle area and can walk onto the Mulkiteo-Clinton ferry, we will pick you up at the Clinton ferry terminal and transport you to our lodge. If you have any questions about directions or transportation, please call us and we will be happy to help.
Can we come as a couple?
Yes, couples are welcome! Couples can share a room should they choose and we will give priority of larger rooms for couples. The program is priced per person, so the cost will be the same. Maximum two couples per week.
What kind of food will be served? Can you accomodate food restrictions?
Local gourmet chefs will prepare nutritious and calorie counted meals for your stay throughout the week using organic, locally sourced and sustainable fresh ingredients. Most guests will receive approximately 1400-1800 calories/day but you will not be hungry. Yes, our chefs can accommodate food restrictions- just let us know before arrival and we can make adjustments to your meals.
Is there Wifi?
There is strong Wifi thoughout The Quintessa but please note, Wifi will be turned off by 10 PM nightly to ensure some digital detoxification and sound sleep.
How can I do my laundry?
Don't worry about bringing lots of clothes- Every morning, we will do your laundry so that later that evening, it will be ready.
What if I do not want to lose weight?
We welcome guests who do not want to lose weight - Just let us know, and we will provide larger portions and snacks to help prevent weight loss.
What are the rates?
All inclusive week rate is $3800 plus taxes and fees.
What are the hikes and terrain like?
We will take you on different hikes each day and they vary in intensity and terrain. Most will be on well trodden paths, but there will be unvevn surfaces, rocks, and gravel. If it rains, leaves and roots may make it slippery. A sturdy and high quality hiking boot is essential. We will be in the Puget sound islands so the elevation gain will not be high. Most hikes will have 200-700 ft elevation gain. When we are walking on flatter paths, we will pick up the pace to maintain a nordic type cardiovascular workout.
Is Island Trek Fitness the right fit for me?
Our guests have to be over age 18, and be motivated and ready for lasting change. It is best for folks who thrive in a small group setting, as we will have maximum of 12 guests. We are a structured program, like a boot camp, so it is not a "choose your own activity" week. From 6 AM to 7 PM, your schedule is outlined for you, but don't worry- you will have some personal down time during the day. Our week-long program is designed to fit a spectrum of guests with different physical fitness levels. Our staff can support you with modifications of pace on hikes, or workout intensities.
